  • Call to Action

We’re from the Show Me State – Let’s Show them the Capitol City can turn out! Our presence on April 5th is an opportunity for us to set the tone that the Capitol City is a place for lawful protest. We can help to influence the “protest” culture in Jefferson City. We Stand United for the Missouri State Capitol to be a safe place for every voice to be heard.

  • We Stand United (WSU) is coordinating a Rally for the Freedom to Assemble from noon – 3 p.m. at the Missouri State Capitol on April 5th.  This rally is being held in conjunction with the “Hands Off!” movement, Indivisible, 50501, Women’s March, and many others across the nation.

The Rally for the Freedom to Assemble – a right guaranteed by the 1st Amendment -- stays true to WSU’s mission and values and is a friendly reminder to others who are participating that we want to keep this peaceful. Although we will be mixing with other groups with various messages – including hate signs, we are there to influence things in a positive way. By staying together as a group and having a common message centered on the right to freely assemble, we believe it creates a safer, more comfortable environment to have our voices heard.

  • The reality is that we have no control over other groups or people who show up. Events like this are unpredictable. Are there risks? Yes. However, we believe that sticking together as a group and having a common theme centered upon our 1st Amendment Right to Peacefully Assemble will minimize those risks. We Stand United remains autonomous and we also respect the autonomy of other groups.

  • Our We Stand United group will meet at a PURPLE CANOPY near the Capitol Steps

  • There should be plenty of available parking. Street parking is free on Saturdays. View the Capitol Parking map above for details on available lots.
