Featured Speakers

Brian Kaylor is the president and editor-in-chief of Word&Way. An award-winning writer, Baptist minister, and leading expert on the intersection of religion, politics, and communication, he holds a Ph.D. in political communication and is the author or co-author of seven books, including The Bible According to Christian Nationalists and Baptizing America. His work has appeared in major outlets such as CNN, The Washington Post, and Religion News Service, and he hosts the award-winning podcast Dangerous Dogma.

Representative Elizabeth Fuchs, elected in 2024 to serve Missouri’s 80th District, brings a powerful voice for equity, justice, and community healing to the Capitol. With a background in social work and policy education, she has spent years fighting for systemic change and uplifting marginalized voices across Missouri. Her leadership is rooted in compassion, courage, and a deep commitment to protecting civil liberties and democratic values.

Lindsay Browning is an activist, organizer, and labor partner with Respect Missouri Voters, a nonpartisan group fighting to ensure Missouri voters, not politicians, decide ballot issues. She speaks out for free speech, the value of every vote, and against attacks on unions that threaten working Missourians. Lindsay’s call to action: get involved. Host petition parties, stand outside your library or grocery store, and ask neighbors and church members to sign. As Lindsay reminds us, silence doesn’t protect you—it only silences your voice.

David Knipp - David Knipp, also known as Proud Union Guy, is a member of Local 1 Heat and Frost Insulators and a grassroots pro-labor advocate who champions Missouri’s working people and reminds us that real democracy means no kings—just power in the hands of the people.

Character Portrayers

Greg Barnes - Greg Barnes (“James Madison”) is a lifelong public servant shaped by a military upbringing and a deep commitment to civic duty. He has led anti-apartheid efforts, worked on Capitol Hill, and served Missouri through legal and legislative advocacy, all grounded in his education at James Madison College and law school honors in Constitutional Law. Today, he’s deeply concerned that the framework protecting liberty and justice faces its greatest threat since the Civil War—and believes it’s up to us to defend it.

Suffragists - Our We Stand United Missouri suffragists will take the stage to share the hard-won milestones in women’s rights. Their voices will remind us of the struggles and victories that shaped our democracy, and inspire us to continue the fight to protect and expand those rights today.
